eBay Selling Tools and A New Drop Shipping Scam

Two items today: A fabulous free resource to help you research and find both free and paid eBay selling tools and alert you to a new form of the drop ship scam.

eBay Selling Tools

Auction Software Review has been around a few years, but I hadn’t been to the site for a while. I was looking it over today and it has grown into a really complete resource for eBay and other channel sellers to find both paid software and services and tons of free tools for eBay and online sellers.

If you want to make money on eBay and other online venues like Yahoo shops, Amazon and Overstock you will eventually need to invest in some form of automation.  eBay selling and research tools help you optimize your listings, host your images, save you time and money and provide sales reporting so you can understand your business.  There are some excellent services and products available to eBay sellers –and the best news is that many of them are free.  Personally I use Vendio, but many of the services listed on The Auction Software Review provide great tools to help you make money on eBay and the internet.

You will want to bookmark this site as you will find yourself coming back to it over and over.

New Drop Ship Scam

Here is the text of an email I received today:

I went to the website at http://www.scockltd.com/html/index.html and looked at the products.  Every single product on the site is clearly a fake.  Believe me there is no where legitimate to buy Gucci watches for $66 each or Dolce Gabanna jeans for $46.  Or, how about an $800 Armani suit for $80 –if only it were true.

The danger in these websites is that they look very legitimate and they take PayPal which tends to give people confidence.  (I wonder if anyone at PayPal reads my blog???) This site even claim to drop ship.  So as a seller you might think, what is the risk? You put a few of these products on eBay and bam –your auctions are canceled and eBay shuts down your account.

This is not the only company doing this.  I get emails from these fake Hong Kong and Chinese suppliers every day.  Don’t fall for this.  In fact, I have completely stopped selling famous-name designer goods on eBay. Even if you have a reliable source, it is very difficult to make money in this highly competitive area and the presence of so many fakes has driven the price of the authentic goods down.
