eBay Drops Out of Top Ten Most Visited Websites

An article in Auctionbytes today reported that eBay dropped out of the top ten most visited websites in 2010.  In 2009 eBay was number 10.  In 2010 the number ten spot was claimed by Bing.  Read the full story at Auctionbytes.

It was just a few short years ago that eBay was always in the top 3 or 4. Interestingly eBay does get more searches and traffic than Amazon, yet Amazon outsells eBay and is way more profitable.

  1. This is sad news, to me, anyway. I used to be a big eBay fan. I still am, though not as much anymore. But it’s not surprising, given how intent eBay seems to be on alienating just about everybody. I read the article and I think it underscores again how important the search engines and social sites are if you want to do business on the Internet. I’ve got accounts on all of them. Not quite sure what to do with them yet, but I’m sure it’ll become clear in 2011. Thanks for keeping us updated, Skip!

  2. Hopefully they with wake up and do some major restructuring in the correct way or someone else will emerge as the top dog.

  3. Very shocking to know that eBay has come down from the top list. We are doing services to ebay clients and hope eBay will take measures to get to the top position again
    Thank u for the information.
