New Amazon Image Naming Regs

From an earlier post several of you asked me for the reference on the new Amazon image regulations.

Here is what the new reg says:

File names must consist of the product identifier (Amazon ASIN, 13-digit ISBN, EAN, JAN, or UPC) followed by a period and the appropriate file extension (Example: B000123456.jpg or 0237425673485.tif)

You can find this info and all other current regs at:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200109520 (You may have to log into Seller Central to see that page)

  1. It appears to me that this is only for folks listing as Author, Publisher & Vendor Guides. I couldn’t find any mention of this regulation except for the link given which was located in the Help files under Author, Publisher & Vendor Guides > About Product Image File Naming. Are you sure it applies to other categories?
