Shipping Rates Going Up

You have probably heard that FedEx, USPS and UPS rates are going up.  All three carriers recently announced a number of changes, affecting both domestic and international services. The shipping calculator, eBay labels, and PayPal labels have been updated to reflect these changes—make sure your shipping costs reflect these new rates as well. For more information, visit the USPS, UPS, and FedEx sites.

The U.S. Postal Service is generally cheaper (and faster) on items that weigh under 4-pounds. If you use the post office, then you should be using to save money

This change brings some bad news for my customers.  Our printed books, typically weigh about 7 pounds. We had recently tried shipping via Priority Mail but with the new rate increase we are reverting to UPS ground, so its now going to take 5 or 6 days to get delivery on our books.  We had an option to raise the prices or change the shipping and we decided to keep our prices where they are.

  1. More then likely the rise in costs is partly because of Amazon now operating their own delivery fleet and cutting into the “Big Three’s” lost of businesses and profits.
